The concept for this website comes from Bonnie’s original idea of a post apocalyptic future. The apocalypse is the knowing of one person to a secret about humankind, but now, it refers to the end of the world and one’s revelation to that time. Read more about the apocalypse at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apocalypse. I tried to create a scene and feel of despair and fear, categorizing my memettes and other components into different features of the apocalypse, which I explain below.
The Beast, also known as Antichrist, is the individual who is at the center of God’s wrath and the End-time ruler. There is much debate on who the beast is and what types of beasts or antichrists there are. Read more about them at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Beast_%28Bible and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antichrist.
Apocalyptic writing contains many mystical symbols. Ancient cultures used numbers in place of letters, as can be scene in the number of the beast—666 and Sybillines—888. There is often a prophecy of when the apocalypse and other predicted events will occur with numbers. To understand more about Biblical numbers and code theories, the following books are helpful. "Number in Scripture" by E. W. Bullinger, D.D., “The Bible Code” by Michael Drosnin and "City of Revelation" subtitled "A Book of Forgotten Wisdom" by John Michell.
The following are other memettes from ARTD299a that are not relevent to the site, but are worth noting to show progress during the class. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.
